HP is attempting to reverse the stigma associated with external drives being slower than EIDE counterparts by not only supplying both USB 2.0 and FireWire, but by burning at the same 4x speeds as fixed devices.

HP is attempting to reverse the stigma associated with external drives being slower than EIDE counterparts by not only supplying both USB 2.0 and FireWire, but by burning at the same 4x speeds as fixed devices. Geared towards both home users and enterprise, it sports a software package for data backup, while the HP memories disc creator allows you to create slide shows and store digital images for archival purposes.

Supplied with manual and a single DVD writable and rewritable, you can start your burning right away. Its cost did lower its overall rating, but at $250 cheaper than the Sony, this is perfect for travellers and those after portability above all else.
