The fastest - and most expensive - single GPU graphics card that money can buy.

In our review of AMD’s RADEON HD 7970, a few things were clear. It is both the most expensive and the fastest single GPU card on the market.

While that testing was done with an AMD reference card, XFX’s clunkily named RADEON HD 7970 Black Edition Double Dissipation version turned up a couple of days later.

Not only is it the first 7970 we have seen with a custom heatsink (and what a beautiful heatsink it is), but it is also clocked faster than the reference card, with a core speed of 1GHz as opposed to the standard 925MHz. This makes it even faster and more expensive than the stock models.

The price still makes it hard to recommend to all but the most flush of gamers, but if you want to drop over $900 on a video card, this is the one to get.
