Mechanical keyboards are all the rage amongst gamers, and there is an ever-increasing number hitting the market. Corsair’s K90 is its premium offering, targeted at MMO and RTS gamers thanks to the array of Macro buttons down the left side of the keyboard.
Even if you don’t use these, there is a lot to love about the design of the K90. Keys sit above a brushed aluminium surface , which means you don’t get the same accumulation of dust and other gunk that you do with most keyboards. It also makes the blue backlighting quite striking.
The Cherry MX Red keys are a joy to use, giving a great tactile feel, and little touches like the metal roller switch for volume, removable wristrest and USB 2 port on the rear make for a great all-round keyboard. The macro software still needs a bit of work, but that’s the only fault we can find with what is our new favourite letter input device.
