Overall:

There's really nothing here for tweaking freaks, but the chance to drive some great cars in fast-paced and well presented environments is well worth the relatively low price.

Brought to us by Razorworks - the team that made its name with Apache Havoc - Ford Racing 3 is the latest instalment in a popular series that has managed to achieve solid multi-platform success. This is arcade racing at its best, with 56 Fords to choose from (including the Model T and eight Australian variants), 26 on and off-road tracks and 11 race types. Six-player racing is now supported via LAN, and Razorworks has tuned up an already smooth interface. On-screen information is a little cluttered, but everything you need is there and things are spiced up by the addition of Race Action Icons that kick in to measure things like wheel spin, drift and time off the ground.

There's really nothing here for tweaking freaks, but the chance to drive some great cars in fast-paced and well presented environments is well worth the relatively low price, and no-one will have to work too hard to learn the basics. Ford Racing 3 doesn't claim to be a complex racing simulation, instead offering classic arcade excitement that's as good as anything else you'll find.
