Airtime: Sean Parker’s new video chat startup

Parker once again unites with Napster co-founder Shawn Fanning for a browser-based spin on Chatroulette. Try it now.

Sean Parker is back in the startup business – and he’s brought his old Napster partner Shawn Fanning along this time. The two have just launched Airtime, a browser-based video chat service.

It sounds a lot like Chatroulette, but because it uses Facebook login there should be fewer creepers and naked people on it. We can but hope. The idea is to chat with people who share the same interests as you, whether they’re existing Facebook friends or total strangers. As with Google Hangouts, you can show people YouTube videos and watch their reactions in real time.

Airtime is “go” right now, so give it a whirl.
