Corning unveils flexible Willow Glass

New launch from inventor of ultra-tough Gorilla Glass can be wrapped around devices

Corning, the company behind the supremely tough Gorilla Glass used in the screens of the iPhone 4S, Nokia Lumia 900 and more, has unveiled its latest piece of transparent tech: Willow Glass.

Willow Glass can be made as thin as 100 microns – as skinny as a piece of paper – and is flexible enough to be “wrapped” around a device. It’s designed with touchscreen use in mind, and is now being sent to customers for evaluation. The Verge says it could go into full scale production later this year.
