Get quad-core power for cheap with the Nvidia Kai

Tegra 3 tablets might be expensive now but soon that power will be coming to $200 tablets

Nvidia – creator of the powerful quad-core Tegra 3 processor – has just announced a more affordable version called Kai. That’s right, you could soon be toting Tegra powers in a tablet that costs less than US$200.

Nvidia’s vice president of investor relations has revealed that the processor champ is working on the Kai chip to bring quad-core power to affordable tablets. Exactly how much grunt the Kai brings to the table – and whether or not it includes the Tegra 3's fifth core – has yet to be revealed. We're hoping that the first Windows RT tablets (as nodded to by the above picture) come packing Tegra super powers at super saver prices.
