The waiting is finally over. Last night, Samsung announced the launch of its hotly-awaited Galaxy S III smartphone, putting to bed months of idle speculation and online rumours.
The end result is more or less in line with what everyone predicted -- notable highlights include a 1.4Ghz Exynos 4 quad-core processor, a 4.8in 720x1280 Super AMOLED display, an 8MP camera, 1GB RAM and a slightly slimmer bezel than the Galaxy S II. The real test for the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be battery life. If its 2,100 mAh battery can last the distance, our A-list smartphone -- the HTC One X -- may have a serious challenger on its heels.
