Assassin's Creed 3: official trailer

Ubisoft's most expensive game ever has launched its first trailer. Watch it here.

Ubisoft has officially released the first trailer for its upcoming Assassin's Creed 3 title and has confirmed that the tomahawk-wielding protagonist is an assassin of Native American and English heritage called Ratohnaké, or Connor.

Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th Century, there's a distinct Last of the Mohicans vibe from the trailer below, with fluid slicing and dicing that should appeal to fans of Assassin's Creed 2's smooth combat system.

Assassin's Creed 3 will be powered by Ubisoft-AnvilNext, Ubisoft's new game engine which we're told will deliver vastly improved visuals and clever AI which should bring colonial America to Life.

Touted as the largest project in Ubisoft's history, Assassin's Creed 3 will be out in October 31 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, with a Wii U version to follow, so mark the date, sharpen your blades and hit up the trailer below for a sneak peek at what's to come.
