Nokia has announced the availability of its first Windows-based smartphone for the Australian market; the Nokia Lumia 800. Originally debuting at CES 2012, the Windows-powered Lumia 800 is slated for a release in March on a variety of plans from Optus, Telstra and Vodafone.
According to Nokia Australia’s managing director, Chris Carr, the Lumia 800 "signifies a new beginning" for the company that will "change the way people think about Nokia." It's not often that a company acknowledges the need for a complete reboot in a press release, but that's the situation the company finds itself in.
Product highlights for the Lumia 800 include a 3.7in AMOLED display, 16GB of internal storage, a 1.4Ghz Snapdragon processor, an 8-megapixel camera and an inbuilt sat nav powered by Nokia Drive.
