Xbox users can jump on the ABC iView bandwagon

The ABC’s iView Catch Up TV service is finally live on the Xbox 360, offering access to hundreds of programs from across all of ABC TV’s channels - full length and ad-free.

Using the Kinect for Xbox 360, you can search, browse and select programs to watch by using your voice or waving your hand.

The launch of iView on the XBox 360 follows the addition of SBS On Demand, ninemsn and YouTube earlier this month. A movie rental service was already available via the Zune Video Marketplace.

Meanwhile the QuickFlix all-you-can-eat movie rental service is finally available on the PlayStation 3, alongside the Sony Entertainment Network (formerly known as Qriocity). The $14.99 PS3 service complements QuickFlix’s DVD and Blu-ray rental service, which delivers discs in the post. Existing Quickflix Blu-ray and DVD rental customers can upgrade from $7 to $14 per month.

QuickFlix’s streaming movie service is also accessible from Sony TVs and Blu-ray players, PCs and Macs. It looks set to extend to other AV devices in 2012.
