While it has yet to make its debut in Australia, Amazon has announced an update for the Kindle Fire, several weeks after the tablet device first arrived in the US.
"In less than two weeks, we’re rolling out an over-the-air update to Kindle Fire,” Drew Herdener, a company spokesman, told The New York Times.
The firmware update will boost performance, improve multitouch navigation and let users edit the history of what they have used the device for, so others can't simply pick it up to see what content they last viewed.
The update isn't the first for the Kindle Fire, which was updated to version 6.2 last month.
