The Android digital version of the mag "is like pdf". Question is, IS it a PDF? If so, then they are difficult to read on devices, particularly smaller ones.

Mags on the Zinio reader are 'like a PDF'.

Forget about fancy effects.

I read several mags on my PC and the Air using Zinio, and the only real benefit is no tree harmed in the making of the mag.

Hi marts, yes it's essentially a PDF that's viewable with the Zinio reader, which gives you special functions, like a thumbnail index and zoom controls. Zinio is a way to view digital editions across a range of devices, from desktop computers to tablets. The bigger the screen the more room you've got, of course, but the point is that you have the option of trying it on a smaller device if you want to.

Just run a little test here this morning.

The iPad edition vs a Zinio mag.

Consensus here is Zinio edition is the better bet. No fancy effects just for the sake of it, no warnings about having to turn to Portrait to see certain content, just the mag.

If you're determined to read this mag regularly, then I'd recommend the Zinio, but then why pay for half baked, poorly researched 'reviews' (press releases).

amcmo, thanks for the feedback on the digital edition. Are there any particular reviews you've had issue with? The quality of our lab reviews is something we take very seriously. Thanks for everyone's comments, keep them coming.

The funny thing is people post that they have a problem with the reviews and yet they still buy the magazine.

Grow up people! I read reviews from many different authors for the same product before I make any purchasing descision and it is amazing how different one review is different from the next depending who wrote it. Reviews are still only opinions after all.

And many people complain about the reviews as they perhaps rightly feel they lack accuracy. They are entitled to make those concerns public.

Others DON'T buy the mag and are on the forum solely because it's (IMHO) the best part of the mag and a good place to see open debate about news and products. Even those who choose to buy the mag have the right to point out what they see as it's shortcomings.

'Grow Up People' So you'd prefer everyone to shut up and let obviously inaccurate reviews or those that show a lack of research beyond the press release to go unchallenged?

The moment members cease to be able to post openly and critically, then the forum ceases to be of any use and is simply for those who wish to complacently nod agreement with the on-line news and reviews.

How about putting the bloody link on your subscribe page please? AM, I prefer the dissent :)

"My way or the highway", lacks a lot of appeal.

I'll try it out, but I concur with AM and others - recycled web posts are a bit of a bore . . .

Madaz is right, one free issue would be worthwhile. Most mags offer something like this, either a free month or an extra issue.

BTW How much is in the Zinio mag vs. printed natter?
