HTC takes wraps off Android-based Sensation

The new HTC Sensation smartphone will hit the market in mid-May.

One of the worst kept secrets in mobile was confirmed today when the HTC Sensation was unveiled at an event in central London.

The new Android-based smartphone will launch in the UK on Vodafone in mid-May and other providers will begin shipping the device a month later.

The HTC Sensation is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, sports 4GB of internal memory and has an 8GB memory card to boot.

The screen measures in at 4.3in and uses QHD SLCD technology which is designed to make the image crisp, no matter how much you zoom in.

It will run an updated version of HTC’s user interface – HTC Sense – and have an eight mega-pixel camera to shoot both HD picture sand 1080p video.

The HTC Sensation was originally named the Pyramid – and even remains so when you hover over the pictures on the Vodafone site. Numerous leaks have surfaced on the internet over the past few weeks, but today was the first time reports were verified.
