To win, we asked you to tell us what your dream home entertainment setup would look like. And the entries didn't disappoint. Some people wanted their PC to be the hub of their movie watching, others were happy to make a PS3 or Xbox the centerpiece.
pbowra had us envious with tales of a Core 2 Quad server with 5.5TB of storage and five dual HD tuner cards (not wanting to miss a minute there, eh?), and an Android tablet on the coffee table.
Some kept their wishlist simple, others dreamt big. Slatts' wishlist included an Alienware 23-inch OptX AW2310 1080p 3D Display, AMD Radeon HD 6970, coupled with an almighty AMD Phenom II X6 Black 1100T. Couple that with 8GB RAM, Asus Crosshair IV extreme boaqrd, and a Matchmaster 22MM-STBIIHD MPEG4 set top box. Oh, and a 1000 watt power supply and a beer fridge.
Some were all about the audio - mavack dreamt of picking up woodwork and speaker-building as a hobby. Others had more pressing priorities, like keeping the family entertained (thanks monkie, we're impressed).
There were many others who submitted great posts.
With so many excellent entries, picking a winner was difficult. In the end we chose Maccinote, who not only submitted a rhyming entry, but had perhaps one of the most outlandish wishlists, which not only included 4 Xboxs and PS3s, but an arcade room with tabletop machines, a Stratavox, Pinball machines and a racing seat. Hats off, Maccinote. If this setup ever comes to fruition, we'd like an invite.
