Starting from $59,990, the Holden Volt is the first of its kind. Electric cars aren’t new, but the Volt is the first to offer both a Lithium Ion battery, which can run the car for up to 87km, and a fuel generator that recharges the battery once it’s depleted, letting you drive for a further 600km. This makes it different to other electric cars like the Nissan Leaf, which rely solely on electric power.
