Microsoft Surface tablet launch Today, Microsoft unveiled two new tablets dubbed 'Surface' at a special event in California. One is a fully-fledged PC that runs Windows 8 Pro and an Ivy Bridge CPU, while the other uses an NVIDIA Tegra chipset and runs Windows RT.
